NEW ARRIVAL: Allen-Bradley 1769-ECR CompactLogix Right End Cap Now Available
Model Description
We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the Allen-Bradley 1769-ECR right end cap, a mandatory CompactLogix hardware terminator that seals the FlexBus and signals the physical end of any 1769 I/O bank. Measuring only 80 × 31 × 23 mm and weighing 120 g, the cap snaps onto standard 35 mm DIN-rail or panel-mount plates in seconds, providing a clean, professional finish while protecting the last I/O module from dust, debris and accidental contact. The unit draws a negligible 5 mA @ 5 V DC, so it does not impact power budgets or thermal calculations. Its IP20 ABS housing is certified for 0 – 60 °C operation and 5 – 95 % non-condensing humidity, making it suitable for control cabinets, skids and distributed I/O islands in food, packaging, water and general automation applications .

Key Features
1769-ECR delivers reinforced electrical safety: it terminates the high-speed FlexBus, maintains characteristic impedance and prevents reflection-induced communication errors. An integrated ground strap bonds the I/O rail to panel earth, reducing EMC noise and meeting IEC 61010-2-201 requirements. Mechanical retention clips ensure vibration-proof engagement up to 5 g (10 – 500 Hz) and 20 g shock on DIN-rail, while a simple bus-lever action allows tool-free insertion and removal when power is off. The cap is non-repairable and maintenance-free, offering > 20-year service life. UL, CE, CCC, ABS and IECEx approvals validate global deployment, and the module is fully compatible with both CompactLogix 5370 and 5380 controllers as well as MicroLogix 1500 expansion racks .
Related Models in the CompactLogix End-Cap Family
Rockwell Automation provides complementary caps for different architectures. 1769-ECL is the left-side end cap, mandatory when a 1769 power supply is placed on the left of the I/O bank. 1769-CRR1 and 1769-CRL1 are right- and left-cable extensions that allow remote I/O racks up to 30 m away while still using the same 1769-ECR terminator on the last slot. For high-vibration marine or offshore cabinets, 1769-ECR/A (Series A) offers identical electrical specs with enhanced polymer UV stability. All variants share the same 31 mm width, M4 earth stud and colour-coded lever, enabling one-size panel cut-outs and unified assembly procedures across multiple machine projects .
