NEW ARRIVAL: Allen-Bradley 1769-IR6 RTD Input Module Now Available
Model Description
We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the Allen-Bradley 1769-IR6 CompactLogix RTD input module, a 6-channel analogue unit designed for high-precision temperature and resistance measurement in distributed automation systems. Accepting 2-, 3-, or 4-wire platinum, copper, nickel and nickel-iron RTDs, the module offers four software-selectable ranges (0–150 Ω, 0–500 Ω, 0–1 kΩ, 0–3 kΩ) and delivers 0.1 °C resolution over the full –200 °C … +850 °C span of a Pt385 sensor. Sigma-delta conversion and 50/60 Hz selectable filtering ensure stable readings in electrically noisy panels. The 35 mm-wide block draws only 100 mA @ 5 V DC and 35 mA @ 24 V DC, allowing up to eight modules to be placed on the same 1769 bus without exceeding CompactLogix power budgets. Screw-clamp terminals and DIN-rail or panel mounting make it ideal for food, pharma, and OEM skid builders who need repeatable, traceable temperature data .

Key Features
1769-IR6 provides reinforced 720 V DC isolation (channel-to-bus) and ±10 V common-mode range, permitting safe, accurate operation beside frequency inverters or heater SSRs. Open-circuit, short-circuit and over-range diagnostics are reported within 6 ms … 303 s and indicated via status LEDs, cutting commissioning time. Accuracy is best-in-class: ±0.5 °C @ 25 °C (Pt385, 50 Hz filter) and ±0.9 °C @ 60 °C, with non-linearity < ±0.05 %. Cable impedance compensation up to 25 Ω allows sensor extension leads up to 300 m without recalibration. The module is hot-swappable, non-repairable, and carries CE, cULus, ABS and GL marine approvals, guaranteeing global acceptance for both indoor and offshore temperature loops .
Related Models in the 1769 Compact I/O Family
Rockwell Automation offers pin-compatible variants for other signals. 1769-IF8 adds eight voltage/current channels for transmitters, while 1769-OF8C provides eight current outputs. 1769-IR8 doubles RTD capacity to eight inputs when space is constrained. For thermocouples, 1769-IT6 covers J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N types with cold-junction compensation. High-speed 1769-HSC and safety 1769-SDN modules use the same 35 mm footprint and terminal style, enabling mixed-analogue/digital racks without additional wiring. All units share the same 118 × 35 × 87 mm dimensions, 1769-RTB18 removable terminal block, and Studio 5000 configuration profile, so panel builders can standardise cut-outs and quickly scale I/O count as processes grow .
