Description
Pushing 355 kW through 370 A at 690 V, the ACS880-07C-0370A-7+P974 occupies the R10+ frame yet remains under 1.5 m wide, thanks to vertical power-stack orientation that exploits height rather than floor area.  ABB’s new thermally conductive potting compound encapsulates the IGBT modules, doubling thermal cycling lifetime and permitting 105 °C junction temperature for short bursts.  The P974 firmware introduces “shock-load dampening,” which anticipates sudden load impacts—such as rock crushers or hammer mills—and injects counter-torque within one millisecond to protect mechanical couplings.  An integrated arc-resistant pressure relief flap vents internal fault gases downward, safeguarding personnel standing in front of the cabinet.  A tool-less drawer houses spare fuses, control relays and a fibre-optic loop tester, ensuring that critical spares are always at hand.

Applications
Quarry primary crushers rely on the 0370A-7+P974 to absorb 355 kW shock loads from boulder drops, extending gearbox life by 30 %.  In oil refineries, the drive powers 355 kW coker-unit pumps, using shock-load dampening to prevent pipeline hammer.  Large biomass boilers modulate 355 kW induced-draft fans, cutting NOx by 12 % via precise stoichiometric control.
