Description
Switching to the 500 V class, the ACS880-17-0101A-5 offers 101 A of continuous regenerative current in a frame so compact it can hide behind a standard door. Designed for North-American 480 V systems, it feeds braking energy back to the mains at unity power factor, eliminating the need for oversized transformers. The drive’s firmware supports permanent-magnet synchronous motors with field-oriented control accurate to ±0.01 %, making it a favorite for precision spindles and servo-like applications. A built-in choke plus active damping suppresses cable reflections on runs up to 150 m, protecting motor insulation without external filters. An intuitive wizard auto-tunes inertia, friction and backlash in under 90 seconds, reducing commissioning to a coffee break.
