Design & Safety

It features a compact yet robust design, perfect for space-constrained equipment while ensuring stable performance in harsh industrial settings. This reduces maintenance costs and downtime. Safety is a priority, with integrated certified Safe Torque Off (STO) functionality as standard. It can be used in safety-related functions up to SIL3 / PLe, meeting various safety requirements without additional safety components.

Connectivity & Interface

The DCS880 series supports all major fieldbus protocols, ensuring seamless communication with automation systems. It offers extended connectivity options, including three built-in slots for additional input/output extension modules and speed feedback interfaces. The intuitive human-machine interface (HMI) features a high-contrast, high-resolution display supporting easy navigation in multiple languages. USB and Bluetooth connections are also available for convenient parameter settings and monitoring.

Programming & Customization

With easy-to-use and visual adaptive programming, users can add logical functions and conditions for process fine-tuning without requiring programming expertise. It's also customizable to meet specific application needs based on the IEC 61131-3 standard, using the same programming environment and easily integrating with other ABB components like PLCs and HMIs.
