Description
Stepping up to 260 A at 500 V, the ACS880-17-0260A-5 targets high-inertia loads that must start and stop within seconds. ABB’s Direct Torque Control maintains full torque at 0 Hz for one minute, allowing vertical hoists to hold suspended loads without mechanical brakes. The regenerative stage can absorb 260 A continuously while exporting the same amount, making it ideal for test rigs that cycle between motoring and loading. A built-in thermal camera monitors every IGBT module, streaming infrared images to the cloud for predictive maintenance. The drive’s chassis includes forklift pockets and removable lifting eyes, allowing a single technician to position it without rigging gear.
