DESCRIPTION

The PSO1250 is a plug-in supervisory card that slides into any PSx1250-series rack (PSS1250, PSW1250, PSD1220) to turn a stand-alone power shelf into an intelligent, SIL 3-capable power system.

Occupying a single slot, the module continuously measures, displays and communicates all electrical parameters of every PSM1250 converter installed in the same chassis, giving operators a real-time “health dashboard” of the complete 24 Vdc supply chain.

A 3.5-inch colour touchscreen on the front plate shows ac line voltage, current, power, frequency, dc output voltage / current / power, module temperature, current-share balance and fan status for up to six 50 A modules.

All data are also available on an isolated RS-485 port running Modbus-RTU, allowing seamless integration into DCS, SCADA or asset-management software without additional gateways.

Alarm and event logs are time-stamped and can be exported via the service port for trend analysis or audit trails required in SIL 3 safety loops.

The card is certified for Zone 2 / Div. 2 installation, operates from –40 °C to +70 °C, and is coated for G3 corrosive atmospheres, making it equally suited to offshore topsides, onshore skids and pharmaceutical clean rooms.

LED bar-graphs on the front give an at-a-glance go / no-go indication, while internal relays provide hard-wired alarm outputs for loss of ac, dc undervoltage, module failure or high temperature.

Because the PSO1250 is hot-swappable, the power system can be maintained or expanded without ever removing mains or dc feeders, guaranteeing zero downtime in redundant architectures.

Whether the application is a single 50 A wall-mount PSW1250 or a fully populated 300 A 19-inch PSS1250, the PSO1250 adds diagnostic visibility, SIL 3 documentation and remote-monitoring capability in one simple plug-in module.
