Description

The KFD2-ER-Ex1.W.LB is a highly versatile Conductive Switch Amplifier designed for use in hazardous environments. It is engineered to provide reliable level sensing and conductivity measurement, making it ideal for industrial applications such as liquid level monitoring and process control. This device ensures intrinsic safety by isolating signals between hazardous and safe areas, offering a robust solution for precise conductivity monitoring.


Features

The KFD2-ER-Ex1.W.LB features a single-channel isolated barrier with a 24V DC supply, powered via a Power Rail or terminals 14+ and 15-. It offers an adjustable response sensitivity ranging from 1 kΩ to 150 kΩ, allowing for customization based on specific application requirements. The device includes a potentiometer for easy adjustment of sensitivity and DIP switches for configuration. Additionally, it supports reinforced insulation according to IEC/EN 61010-1, ensuring a rated insulation voltage of 300 Veff. The KFD2-ER-Ex1.W.LB also provides signal damping with time constants of 0.5 s, 2 s, 5 s, or 10 s, enhancing signal stability.


Function

The primary function of the KFD2-ER-Ex1.W.LB is to monitor conductivity levels and trigger relay outputs based on predefined thresholds. It achieves this by analyzing the resistance measured between electrodes and activating relay contacts when the resistance falls within the set range. The device can be configured for on/off control or min/max control, providing flexibility for various applications. Its line fault detection capability ensures reliable operation by monitoring for lead breakage or short circuits, indicated by a red LED. With its ability to operate within an ambient temperature range of -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F), the KFD2-ER-Ex1.W.LB is well-suited for demanding industrial environments.
