The KFD2-SH-Ex1.T.OP is a highly reliable 1-channel isolated barrier designed for intrinsic safety applications in industrial environments. This model is powered by a 24 V DC supply and is equipped with form A normally open relay contacts for the safe area load. Features

The KFD2-SH-Ex1.T.OP features a removable terminal block with an integrated self-opening device, simplifying installation and wiring processes. Function

The primary function of the KFD2-SH-Ex1.T.OP is to transfer digital signals from hazardous areas to safe areas while maintaining galvanic isolation between the two. The device uses a zener barrier in combination with a galvanic isolation network to limit the energy transmitted to the field, thereby ensuring intrinsic safety. In the event of a fault in the field circuit, the relays revert to their de-energized state, and the LEDs on the device indicate the fault according to NAMUR NE44 standards.
